These are some of the projects the guild has worked on the the past: Each year we have donated a baby quilt to be given to the first baby born on National Quilting Day (3rd Saturday of March) at each of the area hospitals in Antigo, Shawano, Oconto Falls, and even Rhinelander. Some years we have held a display of quilting at libraries in Suring and Lakewood. And one year a "trunk show" was given for residents of a nursing home in Antigo. May 2005 through May 2006 - Baby quilts given to area hospitals - Challenge issued by President Deanna Tachick - click here Dec 2005 through May 2006 - Quilts for Wounded Soldiers at Fort Hood, TX - Challenge issued by President Laurie Schoenebeck - click here Dec 2007 through May 2008 - Patriot's Quilts for Wounded Soldiers at Fort Hood, TX - Challenge issued by President Laurie Schoenebeck - click here Dec 2007 through May 2008 - Patriot's Quilts for Wounded Soldiers at Fort Hood, TX - Challenge issued by President Deanna Tachick- click here - quilts were carried in the Mountain Parade by PNQ members, families and friends, then displayed on Memorial Day at Tabor Lutheran Church Oct 2008 through Apr 2009 - Duck or Goose with child quilt to St Vincent Hospital, Green Bay - Challenge issued by President Deanna Tachick- click here Feb 15th, 2010 - President's Day Challenge - on that day we met to sew pillowcases to be given to children in the pediatric oncology unit at St Vincent's Hospital in Green Bay. In April Deanna took 250 pillowcases to Green Bay. May 2010 - Healing Patches (project to make quilts for wounded soldiers - Challenge issued by President Laurie Schoenebeck - click here - quilts were carried in the Mountain Parade by PNQ members, families and friends, then displayed on Memorial Day at Tabor Lutheran Church On a continuing basis, throughout the years, the guild has given a quilt to a member of the community who is fighting a health problem or to those who have lost their belongings due to a house fire.
